Principal's Message


Japanese Competition Success

We had three very successful representatives from our school enter the Japanese Speaking Competition held at Bundaberg High on Thursday afternoon.


Congratulations to Nicholas Goodland (2nd Place in Year 5 group), Ryder Lythall-Webb (2nd Place in Year 6 group) and Brooklyn Terry (3rd Place Year 6 Group). As well, Hannah Lowe and Teanna White were also winners in the Japanese Art Competition. Very well done to all of these students.


Corps of Drums at Lighthouse Festival

Our very active Corps of Drums performed again on the weekend at the Lighthouse Festival at Burnett Heads. It was another great presentation which was appreciated by the festival audience. Many thanks to Destinee Lythall-Webb and Sophie Blackley, who have been helping out in recent performances. Thanks, Girls.


Thanks to our coordinating staff of Deane Drinnen and Kirstine Lythall-Webb, and to our dedicated drummers and their families for their efforts.


P&C Meeting

We have a P&C Meeting tomorrow afternoon commencing at 3.30pm. We would love to see you there.


Grandparents Morning

Our Grandparents morning is on this Friday, 2 November. We will start with a brief assembly in the library to be followed by some classroom visits and displays, then a morning tea back at the library. The students are very excited!


Morning Tea Donations

Don’t forget our donation plea for our grandparents’ morning tea this Friday. Contributions can be sent in on Friday morning or the afternoon before. Many thanks.


Swimming Lessons

Just looking ahead to next week, a reminder that swimming commences for Year 4/5 and 5/6 classes next Tuesday, 6 November.


School Opinion Survey

We have had another very positive response in our 2018 School Opinion Survey. Here are some of the results:

¨ 100% of students said Kolan South is a good school.

¨ 100% of students said they like being at Kolan South.

¨ 100% of students said they were getting a good education at Kolan South.

¨ 100% of parents said their child likes attending Kolan South.

¨ 100% of parents said Kolan South encourages parents to participate in school activities.
